Summer Flying

After my first solo, time became difficult to manage with work, school, etc. Craig also has a job so it was difficult for the both of us to find time to fly. I ended up taking a month break, flew again once more, and then another two month break after that. Realizing that if I wanted to obtain my license on or near my 17th birthday, I knew I needed to get flying again as soon as possible.

Craig realized he was going to have a hard time finding the time to train me. He gave me another instructor's phone number. I now train with Chip, a CFI from the flight school across the airport. He is a full-time flight instructor so is very easy to schedule with. I also like his training techniques. We have had a couple flights and we're reviewing maneuvers to get me to solo again as soon as we can. Happy flying!

The Life of a Student Pilot

Hi! I'm Cole! I am 16 years old and am going into the 11th grade. I currently am in my second stage of flight training, which is solo. I soloed on my 16th birthday. I train in a 1967 Cesnna 172 at the Jackson County-Reynolds Field airport in Jackson, Michigan. I try to fly about once a week with Chip, my flight instructor. I hope to receive my Private Pilot's License on my 17th birthday. My future plans are to attend Western Michigan University after my high school graduation. There, I will major in Aviation Flight Science. I will earn as many ratings as possible and then apply for an airline following my graduation from college. My dream is to work for either Delta or American Airlines traveling internationally and seeing the world.

This website was designed for other student pilots or for people who have a passion for aviaiton. Each lesson, there will be a new post about what was learned and accomplished in that lesson. Hope you enjoy the site. Feel free to leave questions or comments. Happy flying! :)
