Review Flight 1

7/23/2013

Exactly one week after my last flight, I went flying again. My plan is to fly at least once a week so I'm happy with that. Chip and I headed out to the south practice area and went over some emercency procedures.

I practiced finding a field in case of an engine failure, but forgot to do the initial instrument check because I hadn't flown in awhile. When an aircraft engine quits, the pilot should maintain best glide speed of the aircraft. This is the speed that will keep the airplane in the air the longest. While maintaining best glide speed, the pilot should be checking any sources of the engine trouble. It could have been too lean of a mixture or forgetting to switch to the other fuel tank.

Then, we went over stalls. I practiced a power-off as well as power-on stall. I was happy with both maneuvers.

Lastly, we went over steep turns. At first I wasn't doing too good, but after some helpful hints, I was able to keep my altitude within the FAA regulations so I was pleased.

It was time to head in so we made a full stop landing and I'm ready to fly again!

**NOTE**

The GoPro has been dead the last couple flights and I have forgotten to charge it. But it's all charged now so expect some videos on my upcoming flights.

Happy Flying!
